Welcome
I am Vision Walker

Matthew 20:16 "Thus the last shall be first and the first last for the called
are many but the chosen are few."

The Early Melodies

I am Vision Walker, also known as "Dream." I was born Constantine Antonio Walker, Jr. on October 19, 1951, in Jamaica. Music has been my passion since I was very young, and I began singing at an early age. I was fortunate to be a founding member of The Soulettes alongside my cousin Rita Marley and Marlene Gifford in the early 1960s.

Journey With the Wailers

At the age of 13, I crossed paths with Clement "Coxsone" Dodd, the owner of the renowned Studio One record label. Dodd recognized our talent immediately and wanted The Soulettes on board. During this time, I also had the privilege of being guided by the legendary musical composers the Wailers, Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer, and Peter Tosh.

Musical Contributions

Vision had been working with the Wailers for a number of years, in 1966, when Bob Marley left Jamaica, Vision's role with the group increased and he officially became a member of the Wailers group along with Bunny Wailer and Peter Tosh. This period with The Wailers marked a significant chapter in Vision's musical journey, producing timeless tracks like "Let Him Go," "Don't Look Back," and "The Toughest." Vision also added his vocals to other iconic Jamaican songs, including Bob Andy's "I've Got To Go Back Home" and Ken Boothe's "The Train Is Coming Baby."

Continued Legacy

Vision's collaboration with The Wailers continued even after Bob Marley's return, contributing to classics like "Selassie Is The Chapel" around 1968. Despite being overlooked by many, this era remains a testament to the musical prowess of The Wailers and Vision contributions to reggae music.

Vision played bass and vocal on the title track of Peter Tosh's Grammy Award-winning album "No Nuclear War." He played guitar on Bunny Wailers Marketplace album. You will also hear him along with the Original Wailers on the Never Ending Wailers reunion album.

Vision for the Future

"As I reflect on my journey, I remain committed to preserving the rich musical heritage of Jamaica. Through my experiences with The Wailers and The Soulettes, I aspire to inspire future generations of musicians and continue spreading the message of love and unity through music. Unite with I as I continue my musical journey." Jah Rastafari, Live!

Musical Journey in America

After relocating to America, my musical endeavors expanded as I became a part of various U.S.-based reggae bands. One notable mention is my involvement with The Rastafarians from California, where I contributed to their groundbreaking album "Orthodox." Additionally, I added my talents to Jah Malla, a New York-based band featuring Noel Alphonso, son of the legendary Skatalites' saxophonist Roland Alphonso.

Playing Percussion and Vocals

In the early 1980s, Vision embarked on a memorable journey as he joined Peter Tosh's world tour. During this time, Vision played percussions and provided collaborative vocals. Vision is predominantly featured throughout the video of the Peter Tosh "Captured Live", leaving an indelible mark on the reggae scene. His contributions can also be heard on the companion album of the tour, showcasing the depth of his musical versatility.

Reunion With the Wailers

The 1980s brought about a significant reunion as Vision reunited with Bunny Wailer, Peter Tosh, and Junior Braithwaite to record "The Never Ending Wailers." This album stands as a monument in the realm of reunion albums, showcasing the timeless chemistry and musical prowess of their collective talents as The Wailers. Not only did Vision lend his vocals, but he also showcased his guitar skills, playing all the guitar work on the album.

The Melody Makers, Contributing Guitar on their Jahmekya Album

His musical journey continued to flourish as he collaborated with Ziggy Marley And The Melody Makers, contributing guitar. Touring with the group allowed Vision to expand his musical horizons further and share his passion for reggae music with audiences around the world.
